Save the dates, Thursday
March 13th through Thursday April 3rd for the annual CVYO
candy sale fundraiser. Once again, this year we’ll be selling World’s Finest
candies including chocolate bars customized for CVYO.
Sharpen your sales skills
because this year’s grand prize is very cool. In addition, top sellers
in each of the orchestra’s will receive cash prizes and gift certificates.
Each of the boxes contains
fifty (50), $1.00 candies (including chocolate bars, packages of gummy bears,
and chocolate covered raisins). There will also be a very limited number of
premium chocolate boxes available which contain $2.00 chocolate bars. ($60.00
box) CVYO makes a 50% profit from the sales of each candy sold.
Students are expected to
collect the money for each box sold. We prefer that you keep the cash
collected and submit only checks made out to CVYO to equal the $50.00 (or
$60.00) cost of each box. Please be aware that we will be unable to accept
any returns of customized or opened boxes. You are responsible for the cost of
the box(es) taken by your student.
Boxes will be distributed
beginning Thursday March 13th at regular rehearsal times. Remember
there is no rehearsal on Thursday March 20th due to the spring school
holiday. The candy sale will continue through Thursday, April 3rdth
at which time, all money must be turned in.

All auditions take place at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Fellowship
Hall. The church is located at 32111 Watergate Rd. 1 block South
of Agoura Rd. off Lake View Canyon Dr. Regular rehearsals are
held on Thursdays at Westminster Church.

PLACEMENT
IS DETERMINED BY TECHNICAL ABILITY AND SPACE AVAILABLE. SCHEDULE
CONFLICTS WILL NOT BE A DETERMINING FACTOR FOR PLACEMENT. ACCEPTANCE
& PLACEMENT IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE CONDUCTORS. FOR

NEW
MUSICIANS ONLY:
You must make an appointment by calling 805-523-8045 starting
the 1st day of August but no later than August 15th. Check the
Calendar section for dates and times. Musicians will be asked
to play a scale of their choice 1, 2 or 3 octaves, a short prepared
piece and sight-reading. It is important that you prepare something
that shows your technical ability in order that we may place you
in the appropriate orchestra. Woodwinds & brass must be at
least of middle school age and perform at a level well above a
beginning level. The music selected for your audition should be
of a classical nature. The audition will take 5 to 10 minutes.
If you are chosen to participate, you will be given instructions
at that time on how to register.
RETURNING
MUSICIANS:
All returning musicians MUST play for Mr. Benson & Mrs. Sanchez.
Dates and times posted. You will need to make an appointment to
audition when you register. IF YOU ARE NOT 18 YEARS OR OLDER,
YOU WILL NEED A PARENT OR GUARDIAN TO REGISTER. Thursday, August
11, 2007 is the LAST day to register. If you have not auditioned
or contacted us by August 11, your spot may be filled or you will
be placed behind those who have auditioned.

to pay tuition and pick-up information for the season. When you
register, you will need to make an appointment to audition for
placement. Some instruments will be given audition material that
will need to be prepared for the audition. The audition schedule
